Heart Surprise LLC ("Heart Surprise," "we," "us," or "our") creates personalized books for children and grown-ups. We know the photos and details you share are personal and precious, and we treat them with care. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide when you order:

• Your contact details (such as name and email address).
• Details about the characters and story, including each character’s name, age, traits, and the plot, themes, and values you'd like included.
• Photos you upload of characters and places, so we can capture a likeness in the illustrations.
• Payment information, which is collected and processed by our third-party payment provider (we do not store full payment card details ourselves).

Information collected automatically:

• Basic technical and usage information when you visit our website (such as device and browser information), used to operate and improve the site.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create, review, and deliver your personalized book;
• Communicate with you about your order, including sending you review and approval links;
• Process payments and fulfill printed orders;
• Provide customer support; and
• Operate, secure, and improve our website and services.

3. Children's Information

Our books are purchased by adults, and we rely on you to provide any child's information. By providing a child's name, details, or photograph, you confirm you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or have their permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will address it. If you include another adult's name, details, or photograph, you confirm you have their permission to do so.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate, and only as needed to deliver your order. These include:

• Our print-on-demand and shipping partner (to produce and deliver printed copies);
• Our payment processor (to handle payments);
• Our order-form, email, hosting, and database providers (to run the service); and
• The technology providers used to generate your book's content.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety or those of others, or in connection with a business transfer. We require our providers to protect your information and use it only to perform services for us.

5. Photos and Data Retention

We keep the photos and personal details you provide only for as long as necessary to create and deliver your order, and for a limited period afterward. After that, we work to delete the character and place images you uploaded. Photos you upload of characters and places are automatically deleted 30 days after your order is placed. The working illustrations created for your book are automatically deleted 60 days after your book is sent to print. Your finished book file is kept so your download link and any reprints keep working.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information;
• Ask us to stop sending marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us; and
• Exercise any additional rights available to you under the privacy laws that apply where you live.

7. Marketing Use of Content

We will not use the photos you provide, or your finished book, in our marketing or advertising unless you give us explicit permission. See our Terms of Service for details. 

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the data you entrust to us.

9. Third-Party Links

Our website or emails may link to third-party sites or forms (such as our order form). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and we will update the "Last updated" date above.
